Rest takes practice! For most of my life, rest was a foreign concept. I did not know how to slow down. I was like a train coming to a halt, it took a lot of effort and a long time, and by the time I finally slowed down, it was time to go again. However, through different life circumstances and wrestling with God, I can finally say I’ve learned how to rest. It’s through that God-ordained rest that I become recharged. For me, rest doesn’t mean lying around doing nothing; it means doing things that I love. My rest probably looks different than your rest, and that’s okay. In this fast-paced world we live in, I encourage you to work hard and rest well. If you are struggling with the “how,” ask God to help you. He is ready and willing.
"2 And on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done. 3 So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation."
