“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.”
Isaiah 53:5

We have so much to be grateful for on this Thanksgiving Day! I look around and see so much around me that I’m thankful for. However, more so I’m reflecting and remembering to be thankful for the truths in the verse above. All of this peace that is accessible to us right now came at a steep price; it is only by His sacrifice, His payment, His wounds that we get to receive an identity of peace. I’m thankful for a day geared towards not taking for granted the things that we have in our lives. However, there is nothing in my life that is of higher value than the life and sacrifice Jesus made in order to reconcile me to Himself. We will literally be eternally grateful for His sacrifice. Thank you Jesus for the gift of eternal life and for all the gifts that you give us in the here and now.
