I love the word, “no”! I like it because I wasn’t always confident enough to say it. For a long time I gave people the answer they wanted to hear. I didn’t want to rock the boat or upset them. Which left me feeling chaotic and resentful. Theoretically, when we base our answer off of what we think others want to hear we are allowing ourselves to be controlled by them instead of us being controlled by the Holy Spirit. Now, years later, when I’m asked a question, I can give an honest answer with confidence and not fear what other’s think. Our worth and value isn’t in men’s opinions of us but in Him. Now that I have established this healthy boundary of saying no, I can respect the honest answer of others. I’ve also become trustworthy to those around me because they know my yes means yes and my no means no. You should try it, you won’t regret the freedom that it brings.
"37 All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one."
Matthew 5:37
