"8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. 9 But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”"
Genesis 3:8-9

If you’re still unclear of what it means to have good boundaries, look at Genesis 3. In this passage God establishes very clear and precise boundaries for Adam and Eve. They were told they could eat from any tree except for the one in the middle of the garden. He said, if you eat from that one you shall die. Clear enough! God created good and safe boundaries so that Adam and Eve could experience peace…life the way that God intended it. In verse four, the serpent enters and does what he does best…lie and manipulate. Adam and Eve cross over that boundary…eat the apple from the forbidden tree and then enters chaos, shame, disorder, and confusion. That boundary wasn’t established to withhold from them but to protect them. The same is true for us today. My prayer is that we can walk in the boundaries that God has established for us. He is a good Father who knows best. He is gentle and kind and will help us every step of the way. Press in, you won’t regret the freedom that it brings.
