"You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand."
Psalm 16:11
"We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We write this to make our joy complete."
1 John 1:3-4

Former activities that brought me great pleasure no longer have a grip on me. Much of the delight I experienced was in the anticipation of what I hoped would happen when the event occurred. However, the greater the expectancy, the bigger the disappointment when the occurrence was over, even after the jubilation when my desire was realized. Now everything is different and I find myself enjoying every moment because of my awareness of God’s presence. In fact, it is seemingly miraculous since He has always been present, whether or not I was cognizant of His companionship. Prior to my passion to live every moment consciously mindful of the Lord, I was easily distracted and absorbed in countless and oftentimes random thoughts and activities that proved to be meaningless. Now, even the most simple and mundane activities have great significance and purpose when I am doing them in fellowship with Him.
