“Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?” He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.””
Acts 1:6-7

Growing up, I totally was that kid who always asked, “Are we there yet?” I’d be so eager to get to our destination I didn’t have time to wait. When it comes to matters big or small, trusting in God’s timing is so challenging for me, and I could see myself asking Jesus the exact same question His disciples asked in Acts 1. Is it time? Are we there yet? I’m nowhere near perfect, but I’ve been recently trying harder and harder to submit myself to God’s timeline and fully trust Him in the waiting. If I knew God’s exact timing for whatever it is in life I’m seeking, knowing me, I’d wander off only to arrive back right before it starts. Instead, God wants me to stay close…stay dependent on Him.

Lord, please help me trust You in the waiting. Trust You in Your perfect timing. And may I honor You with every moment I have as I wait on You and Your will for me.
