God chose to create us as the crown of his creation. We, the capstone to God’s wondrous design, were formulated to carry the likeness of the divine triune Creator himself! What a spectacular honor and privilege it is to know that over all things on heaven and on earth, we are the image-bearers of God! It is a great encouragement to know that God thinks of us this fondly…as a Father who names his children after himself…beaming with the desire to have everyone know that they are necessarily and primarily associated. I cannot think of a greater prevenient encouragement or blessing than to carry the physical likeness of the one and only eternal God as an intrinsic characteristic!
Father, help me to understand this blessing and to carry your image well!
