“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.”
Ephesians 5:15-16
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”
Colossians 3:23-24

I thank God for every new day He gives me. When I wake up, it’s all before me and I am eager to see what He is going to do. I usually have plans but I am ready to change them when I sense the Lord is going in a different direction. I can only live one moment at a time but those moments become events and the experiences become my story. What I want most is to live each of those moments in fellowship with Him, consciously aware of His presence. No matter what activity I am involved in, I can do it with the Lord because He is always present. My past, with all of its successes and failures, is over and cannot be changed. I can learn from it but if I dwell on it, I have a tendency to get distracted from my fellowship with Him. The same is true for the future, whether it is the rest of the day, tomorrow or next week. I make my plans and schedule activities, but I can enjoy fellowship with the Lord in the process because I want all of my future events to include Him. When I find myself worrying or getting anxious about something that might possibly happen, it distracts me. The moment I refocus on His presence, those fears and concerns vanish and I am able to experience His joy again, no matter what is happening around me. I am grateful for the promise that He will never leave me nor forsake me.
