When I reflect on the life and teaching of Jesus, I am able to see how He wants me to live. I have nothing in which to put my confidence other than that I know the Lord. The knowledge and understanding I have of His justice, mercy, grace and redemption inspires me to surrender everything to Him and trust Him completely with my life. The cross is all the evidence I need to realize that He is able to take all I am and have and make it useful for His Kingdom purpose. I have discovered that the most significant thing I can do is abide in Christ, through Whom everything I need is supplied. Each time a negative attitude or emotion tries to raise its ugly head I am reminded that being consciously aware of His presence is where I am able to find His peace and joy, the two things that sustain me in every situation.
"This is what the Lord says: 'Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom or the strong man boast of his strength or the rich man boast of his riches, but let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,' declares the Lord."
