There is nothing that catches Jesus by surprise. Not physically, emotionally, or spiritually. My prayer today is that this truth brings hope and peace to us. He is our sustainer; our existence and life itself are held together by Jesus. He is truly the author and perfecter of our faith. As he is head of the church, we are compelled to live and walk as Jesus did. May our souls be comforted that there is nothing under the sun that catches our Lord by surprise. The battle is won, death is defeated, and we experience life because of it. Regardless of how hopeless the world can feel at times, there is ALWAYS hope in the one who holds it all together. Let us look to him today for our hope and endurance to press on in living out the purpose for our lives!
15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.
