“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”
Hebrews 11:6
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
Ephesians 2:8-10

I am unable to please God unless I have faith and believe that He exists. In addition to that, He promises to reward me if I earnestly seek Him. However, the faith I need to believe is a gift from Him so the assurance I have that He is the sovereign creator of all things didn’t originate in me. I gratefully give Him all of the glory for the understanding I have of Him because unless He chooses to reveal Himself to me I wouldn’t know that He exists. When I read the Bible, I can’t understand it unless the Holy Spirit teaches me what it means. Everything I am and have that matters is the result of what He has done in my life. The one thing that I can choose to do, now that I know He is with me, is to seek Him in everything I do. That is what I want to do, and by His mercy and grace, I am going to do it.
