'“So I will come to put you on trial. I will be quick to testify against sorcerers, adulterers and perjurers, against those who defraud laborers of their wages, who oppress the widows and the fatherless, and deprive the foreigners among you of justice, but do not fear me,” says the Lord Almighty.'
Malachi 3:5-6

In these verses we are reminded that the Lord does not change. He is perfect and consistent. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. Circumstance, emotions, world events, our choices, do not change the character of God. However, we are imperfect people who make mistakes and don’t always stay the course.

He makes it very clear here in this passage that we will be held accountable for the sin in our life and that our sin separates us from Him. But if you read on to verse 7 it says, “return to me and I’ll return to you.” It’s that simple. God is waiting, longing for your return. Longing for you to reconcile with Him so that we can be purified.

No one is too far gone. I cringe when people say, “she won’t ever change” or “he is too far gone.” Because no one is out of reach from the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ.
