Have you ever had to pry a candy bar out of a toddler’s hand? Finger by finger, you peel their tiny little hand away from what has now become a melted mess. Well, this is how I felt when our oldest daughter entered high school two years ago. I wanted to keep a death grip on her tiny little junior high self. I knew high school meant more freedom, driving, then college, marriage…it was all too much. I wasn’t ready until God spoke these words to me, “you can trust me or make yourself miserable with worry.” In that moment, I choose to trust Him. When we choose trust over worry, a stillness washes over us. As we release our grip, the control, the “what ifs,” our desires, hopes, and dreams, we move out of the way and make room for God to move mountains. So, let’s be still and know that He is God!
“10 Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.”
Psalm 46:10
