There is something about morning time! The sun rising, the birds chirping, the bustle of people starting their day, the expectations of having a full day ahead, the opportunity to start over.
The newness of God’s compassions pointed out in these verses remind me of the same thing. No matter how dark the night has been, I’ve never woken up to a day without the sun rising and the morning beginning a new day. The compassion and love that God has for us is the same way; in the places that feel dark and even hopeless, God is faithful to reach us with His compassion towards us; in the places that feel full of shame, He extends His mercy to us; in the places that feel dry and alone, He envelopes us in His love.
No matter what, “we are not consumed.” Thank you God for your great love for us.
