“Therefore, if what I eat causes my brother to fall into sin, I will never eat meat again so that I will not cause him to fall.”
1 Corinthians 8:13

We’re blessed to live in a nation where personal autonomy is highly valued, and yet scripture teaches us that this is not our home. The moment we said yes to Christ, we became citizens of heaven with a kingdom assignment to go, share the gospel, teach and make disciples. Today’s scripture challenges us to lay down some of the very freedoms we may cling to for the good of someone else and the advancement of the gospel. It’s easy to set aside something we feel indifferent to. But laying down something we may hold dear requires a renewed mind, submitted will, and the power of the Holy Spirit. As we act in obedience, we learn that in ”losing our life, we find it.” (Matthew16:25)
