For many years I sang a Hymn which contained the words, “all to Jesus I surrender, all to Him I freely give.” I didn’t comprehend how powerful those words were for a long time because I didn’t really surrender everything. There were many areas of my life where I still remained with the illusion that I had control. Now I have consciously turned everything I am and have over to the Lord for Him to use for His eternal purpose. The simple act of surrender to Him in every situation enables me to live in continual fellowship with Him. There are still brief moments of diversion, but the emptiness and fruit of carnal distractions rob me of the peace and joy that I have learned to enjoy in the simple awareness of His presence. I thank the Lord for guiding me to the place of rest in Him that comes with absolute surrender to His will.
"Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. On Him God the Father has placed his seal of approval."
John 6:27
"There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from His. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following their example of disobedience."
Hebrews 4:9-11
