From the time I was a small child, I was an extrovert that had an insatiable appetite for pleasure. Games, sports, entertainment, and most forms of competition captured my attention. My mission in life was to conquer boredom. The common denominator for all these activities was companionship. I enjoyed going to church because of the fellowship, but there was no commitment to the Lord because I couldn’t see the purpose.
When I became a teenager, the activities became more harmful, but I was naïve and only wanted amusement. The card games turned to gambling, the alcohol turned to inebriation, and curiosity led to pornography. What had been pleasure turned into habits, and they eventually became addictions.
Eventually, my cravings were destroying my family, and the Lord sent a man into my life who shared the gospel with me. When I confessed that Jesus is my Lord and believed in my heart that God raised Him from the dead, I crossed over from the domain of darkness into the Kingdom of Light. I became a new creature in Christ, and I and my marriage were saved.
