God’s love is contagious! My resurrection story began as a freshman in college when I experienced friends who loved Jesus more than life itself. That experience completely transformed my life. I wanted what they had, and I was willing to surrender whatever I needed “to know the power of his resurrection.” I wanted their joy, their peace, their desire for worship. I wanted what they had. So, I started spending time with them. I watched and learned as they pressed into His presence.
As they pressed in, I did too. I began learning what it meant to follow Him. I wanted to know Him the way they did. My priorities changed, and I began to shed old habits, unhealthy thinking patterns, and experience freedom like never before. I began to look at people differently. Instead of judgment, I had compassion. I wanted everyone to experience what I was experiencing. Twenty-two years later, I am still pressing in. I will always be grateful for the fall of 1999 and how God orchestrated my freshman year at Texas State.
Thank you, Jesus, for being everything that we need. Thank you for going before us and providing for us every step of the way. Open our hearts to you, to your way.
