"12 Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. 13 Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. 14 Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony 15 And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. 16 Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. 17 And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father."
Colossians 3:12-17

How long does it take you to pick out the clothes you’re wearing on any given day? Do you pick your clothes out the night before or just go for it the morning of? The truth is, what we wear represents a part of who we are. Whether it’s the company logo on our hats or shirts that tell others who we work for, the work boots that express our consistent work ethic, or the casual jeans and t-shirt that yell “it’s the weekend”! As Christians, we know we are to represent Christ in all we do. Sometimes, however, we do not take the time to intentionally put on our team jersey, which is our new nature, that says “Chosen” on it.

So today, let’s practice putting these characteristics on today: mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, forgiveness, love, peace, gratitude, and wisdom. I wonder what our community would be like if we, God’s chosen people, would put on our new nature and represent him in this way?
