"24 Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. 25 Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock."
Matthew 7:24-25

The core to a God-centered world is God-centered families, and of course, the enemy knows that. He knows that if he can destroy the family, he can destroy the world. The enemy is sly and cunning and is going to try and cause division, destruction, and devastation in any way he can. Whether that’s within our marriages, between us and our kids, or between siblings. That’s why we must build our house, our families, on God’s firm foundation. So, what does it mean to build our house on the rock? While there are many ways to do this, I believe that these are the most important…

·      Pursue a personal relationship with Jesus.
·      Pursue the church.
·      Pursue community.

All three of these involve us actively pursuing Jesus. The key word is activation. It begins with dying to ourselves and our agenda to pursue a life of wholeness and health. God’s word tells men: lead your families with kindness and love, and women: honor and respect your husband. Parents love your children well, giving them a safe place to make mistakes and grow. Children, obey your parents. Prioritize Jesus. Reevaluate your schedule so that God is at the center. Storms are going to hit, and if our families aren’t firmly planted on God’s word, His truth, we are going to lose our footing. Accomplishing all of this is no small feat. Thankfully, we have Jesus and the Holy Spirit to help us every step of the way.
