Few things are as opposite as DEATH and LIFE. And yet, that’s the exact description of what Christ has done for us! I love the emphasis on “even when we were dead” in our sins, God made us alive. Even as we were helpless and hopeless, when we couldn’t do anything for ourselves, he gave us new life. What a beautiful witness God has given us of his grace.
As we reflect on how the Gospel has impacted our lives and how we can share with those around us, I love remembering this truth — we each have been touched by the Gospel powerfully, not because of something we did to earn God’s grace, but solely because of God’s great love for us. That same opportunity is also there for those around us, all those who do not yet know His love. Those who, like we were, are the walking dead, in need of being made alive with Christ! Christ, the only one who holds power over sin and death. Our life and salvation is secure in His hands!
