When I was young, I didn’t like boundaries, rules or restrictions. I didn’t have a sense of purpose in my life and I had a hard time making a commitment to anything. I enjoyed my freedom and never took God into consideration when I made a decision. I was impulsive and never gave much thought to consequences. I didn’t complete most of the projects I started because the first sign of adversity brought them to an end. That’s how it was with my marriage. It was in the process of becoming another casualty of my undisciplined behavior. When I started following Jesus, by His mercy and grace, that all started to change. Instead of my family becoming another one of my failures, I discovered that through Him, I could overcome the obstacles that appeared in my path. Persevering with my family enabled me to realize that He can always make a way for me to overcome any adversity that arises in my life. Now, by embracing everything that happens as an opportunity to grow in my fellowship with the Lord, I am able to overcome hardships, difficulties or misfortune. I love Him and give Him all of the glory for making me who I am today.
“LORD, you have assigned me my portion and my cup; you have made my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.”
Psalm 16:5-6
“Such confidence as this is ours through Christ before God. Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God.”
2 Corinthians 3:4-5
