“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
Matthew 7:1-2
“You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgement on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgement do the same things. Now we know that God’s judgement against those who do such things is based on truth.”
Romans 2:1-2

Rules for My Life

Rule Number 1 – I do not judge or condemn others for what they do.

This is a very important rule for me because of the way it has had such a negative effect on all of my relationships in the past. Judging and condemning others for their actions is not my responsibility nor was it Jesus’ responsibility while He was living in this world as a human being. Unlike Jesus, I really cannot make judgements because I don’t have all of the facts. Nor does the Lord want me to exercise vengeance against anyone. Just as God has forgiven everyone for their sins, I must have the same attitude as He did. As a follower of Jesus, it is imperative that I am honest in all of my affairs and be transparent with others. However, I cannot project this on anyone because this is a decision that each individual has to make for themselves. If the Lord chooses to give me discernment regarding a situation, I will follow the leading of the Holy Spirit to restore people towards a position of reconciliation with God and encourage them to embrace His love, acceptance and forgiveness. Until they do, however, I am the human agent that is acting as an ambassador for the Lord to demonstrate His mercy and grace towards them and be their advocate. I cannot do this in my own strength so it is my continual prayer that God will work through my weakness and enable me to do it.
