“But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
1 Peter 3:8-9
“Now listen, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.’ Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.”
James 4:13-14

One day with the Lord is as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day. With me, one day is made up of twenty-four hours and almost fifteen thousand minutes. Compared to eternity, my life is like a vapor that is here for a moment and then gone. For many years I studied time management which was much more philosophical than it was practical. I learned about priorities, controlling some of the events in my life and delegating but I still don’t understand time from God’s perspective. However, there is one thing that I know to be true and what is really important for me. Spending time with the Lord and those I have an intimate relationship with is more meaningful than anything else I can do. No matter what is happening around me, I can experience the peace of His presence in any situation. When I am with friends who know Him, I able to commune with them in a way that transcends understanding because His presence is always in our midst. I thank God for the reality of His presence in my life one joyful moment after another.
