“Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life£ will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it.’”
Matthew 16:24-25

God’s way of doing things is the opposite of how my ego thinks.

He wants me to focus on giving but my ego is obsessed with receiving.

He wants me to simplify and experience His peace and joy but my ego loves chaos and drama.

He wants me to glorify Him with my life but my ego is continually seeking attention and recognition.

When He wants me to be still and abide in Christ, my ego continually distracts me.

I am so happy that He has provided me with a way of escape from my ego’s determined effort to keep me from enjoying fellowship with Him. My ego has been crucified with Christ and I can consider him to be dead. Now I can live by faith in Jesus Christ and trust the Lord to work in me to will and do of His good pleasure.

I pray that He will help me keep looking unto Him because He is the author and perfection of my faith.
