God’s promises are always consistent, reliable and trustworthy. My problems have always been caused by my natural tendency to rely on my own understanding, perspective and intelligence.
It isn’t that God doesn’t want me to think. Instead of trusting Him, however, my false presuppositions dominated my interpretations of the situations in which I found myself.
For many years I had to seek God because I was muddled in the darkness of my nonconformity to His ways. Now, God’s commitment to His word is more reliable to me than my circumstances and I don’t have to seek Him any longer. When I get confused because of my life situation, His simple promise that He will never leave me is enough for me to know in order to find Him and His purpose in every experience.
I am grateful that when I asked, He answered; when I sought Him, He revealed Himself to me; when I knocked, He opened the door.
