For the LORD comforts Zion; he comforts all her waste places and makes her wilderness like Eden, her desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the voice of song.
Isaiah 51:3

According to Webster Dictionary, Joy can be defined as a feeling of great pleasure and happiness. To me, one of the most beautiful things about joy is that when we know God, we have access to joy that is not dependent on our circumstances. Even if we are having a bad day, struggling with a friend or relationship, or falling short in our imperfections, God still gives us the option to have joy.

God created humans to be able to hold multiple emotions in our hearts simultaneously. “Joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the sound of singing.” It’s amazing that when we fix our thoughts on gratitude, so much joy is found.
