When our son hops into the car after school, I ask the usual, “How was your day? Did you eat all your lunch?” But my most favorite question to ask is, “So, you stepped into school, then what happened next?” Indicating that I want to know everything! Don’t leave out any details! A few weeks ago, he told me a story about a little boy who didn’t have any friends. Titus was his only friend. Titus goes on to say, “Mom, he was alone, so I sat with him so that he would feel joy.”
In the NLT translation of 2 Corinthians 9:13, it says, “As a result of your ministry, they will give glory to God.” As a result of Titus’ kindness, his friends got to experience the love of Jesus. When I meditate on this verse, I think about my own life. As a result of hurtful words, I caused division between my kids and me. As a result of unforgiveness, I hold a grudge. As a result of fear and worry, I can’t live in peace. Then there is the flip side; as a result of God’s death on the cross and His redemptive work within me, I can be the light. As a result of God’s grace, I can grace others. As a result of God’s power, I can walk in obedience so that others can come to know Him.
