“And we urge you, brothers, admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all.”
1 Thessalonians 5:14
“From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.”
Ephesians 4:16

True relationships and mission when we’re living in community mean giving when we have and receiving when we don’t. Whether the giving or the receiving is harder for you, both are important parts of living life together. I’m so thankful for the way others admonish me, encourage me, help me, and are extremely patient with me when I am complacent, weak, low, and stuck in my faith.

I’m also grateful for the opportunity others give me with their vulnerability and honesty so that I can show up in their lives with the encouragement and patience God gives me for them. Loving each other when there’s an equal balance is always meaningful, but showing up when it can’t be repaid reveals so much more about God’s design for each member of His body to do its own special work.
