Who shared the gospel with you before you were a believer? Who pointed you to Jesus and showed you what He is like? If you’re like me, it was someone sharing their life with me that helped me see God and His will for me more clearly. Of course the message of the gospel saved and transforms my life, but it truly was the pairing of it and the presence of believers who knew Him that helped me live it out.
That continues to be true today! It’s the presence of others and their shared life and care for me that encourages & accelerates my faith. It’s that type of gathering and sharing life together that enables us to spur each other on in the way that Hebrews 10:24-25 speaks about.
Mighty God, thank you for the way You have designed Your body of believers and the way You fashion us together to spur each other on. We see Your heart for us and for community and the way that You have called us to live. Help us to delight in sharing the gospel AND our lives with others — watching the way You use it to reveal Yourself to others. Thank you for those who came before us and did the same in our lives, may that seed be multiplied in each of us of tenfold. We love to watch You move and grow us! We thank You and pray this in Your name, Jesus. Amen.
