Two words really rub me the wrong way: impossible and can’t. In my mind, these two words are the epitome of giving up. The journey of finding a way around a seemingly difficult problem, the thought of defeating the odds and defying expectations is exhilarating! Yet, when it comes to salvation, man’s efforts are utterly meaningless. Humanly speaking, it is simply impossible for anyone to earn salvation. There’s no other way to the Father except through Jesus. He is the only way!
So this morning, I say that I can’t. I just can’t live through today without the strength that comes from your Holy Spirit. I have a tendency to go through situations in life on my strength but when I do, I continually fall short. You, Jesus, are the only way. I thank you for making salvation possible through your Gospel.
