“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
Matthew 18:20
“You know that I have not hesitated to preach anything that would be helpful to you but have taught you publicly and from house to house.”
Acts 20:20

The simplest form of the church is when two or three people gather in the name of Jesus. He says that He will be there with them. There is something very special that takes place when we recognize Him.

About thirty years ago I studied a Bible Course entitled “The Two Winged Church.” The purpose of it was to point out the necessity of two types of gatherings that were evidence of a healthy church. The primary gathering is the weekly common worship service where a large group of people come together. The other was the small group experience that enables people to be much more intimate with each other.

In over fifty years of ministry experience I have found this to be true. Every church I have been involved in included some form of small groups. These have met in homes, restaurants, small classrooms, parks and many other places that provided a safe place.

Cypress Creek Church was established as a “two-winged church” from the very beginning and it hasn’t changed. Rob Campbell, our founding pastor, has been a tremendous example of a church leader that encourages gatherings publicly and in small groups. We are blessed to have this philosophy in our unified DNA.
