“Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.”
Psalms 100:3

Why did our Heavenly Father make such an incredible sacrifice two thousand years ago by sending His one and only Son into the world? For many years I thought it was for you and me. And I still believe that is a truth that transcends my comprehension. However, if that is the point of view from which I understand the advent message, I am only seeing a small perspective of God’s eternal purpose.

It is true that God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms to reign with Him. But there’s more to it than that. He took us, who were not a people, and made us a chosen people, a royal priesthood, and holy nation in order to show in the coming ages the incomparable riches of his grace. His grace was expressed in His kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

Our new life in Christ is not about us; it’s all about Him and He must be our focus today and every other day. He must increase and we must decrease!
