When the things I do are just steps toward one of my goals, I usually miss out on the greater purpose of my life; having fellowship with the Lord. Whatever I do, no matter whether it is menial or exciting, doing it with Him is what gives it significance. When I focus on a goal and make it the primary objective, I become irritated when interruptions hinder me from staying on track to get it accomplished. However, when I am enjoying fellowship with the Lord, the obstacles are no different than the tasks that are necessary to accomplish the mission. I pray that God will always help me to remain aware that fellowship with Him is my primary purpose.
"This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love."
John 15:8-9
"And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."
Colossians 3:17
