One of my favorite aspects of God is that He wants to use us for His plans and purposes. The more I understand my limits…how broken and incapable I truly am compared to our Creator, the more I’m in awe that a Savior who conquered death and can literally move mountains on command wants to use me to be a part of His Kingdom work here on earth.
I love how God’s work through Peter and the early church models this so well… a man who literally walked with Jesus, (something I wish I could’ve been there for) talked with Jesus, watched Jesus perform miracles, and yet denied even knowing Jesus on that dark night of His betrayal. Peter would later repent, and not only was Jesus gracious and forgiving, but He still used Peter despite his failures. Not only did God still use Peter, but He had big plans for Peter…the man God would build His early church through. It helps me to read back on passages like this. Passages about Moses, Abraham, and others who were far from perfect, yet who God chose to use.
Lord, thank You for wanting to use me. Thank You for Your grace despite my failures. Please protect and grow my awe of Your grace, Lord, amidst Your desires to use me for Your assignment.
