Easter is my most favorite holiday. I love it because, for me, it comes without expectation. We keep it simple, which allows us to focus our time and energy on the things that matter. It’s also not surrounded with a ton of busyness and preparation, which is a nice change of pace. As Resurrection Sunday approaches, I try to pause and take time to process what Jesus went through for me….and it’s that third day that gets me every time.
The cross is brutal and agonizing, too much for us to bear or even comprehend. The piercing part for me is when God raised him from the dead. It’s because of His resurrection that I get a new life, eternal life. He fulfilled His promise.
Now it’s my turn to do the same and glorify Him with my life. The way I live my life should be in direct correlation of the sacrifice He made for me.
