Before I started following Jesus, I thought I had a lot of freedom. My liberty, however, was limited to the tangible world and what I could experience with my senses. I didn’t realize that I was shackled spiritually and blind to the reality of God’s kingdom. I was spiritually dead and had no understanding about Him. When my spiritual eyes were opened, I was able to see how powerless I was and the happiness I had been seeking was like chasing a rainbow. I could see it but it was fleeting. Now, because of the Lord’s mercy and grace, I have an abiding peace and joy that I experience abundantly. No matter what is happening around me, I have assurance that He is in complete command of my circumstances. I thank the Lord for setting me free.
"Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you. For You, Lord, have delivered me from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before the Lord in the land of the living."
Psalm 116:7-9
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30
