"Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies."
1 Corinthians 6:19-20

In the Old Testament of the Bible, the Temple was a pretty special place.  It was where the people went to connect with God, make sacrifices to atone for their sins, and hear from the priests.  The priests understood how holy the Temple was, so they kept it and themselves pure through rituals and cleansing. Jesus changed everything. We no longer need to go to a temple to connect with God.  Once we profess faith in Jesus, God lives IN US.  We are constantly connected to him.

All of that theology matters because it highlights how significant my body is. Reminding myself that the Holy Spirit resides in me changes how I think about purity.  I want His home to be clean, pure, and comfortable.  Jesus paid the ultimate price so that I could be connected to God.  I can acknowledge the price he paid by being disciplined to stay pure in what I put in my mind and body.

What are some things you need to say “no” to or some other things you need to start doing in order to honor God with your body?
