“In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.”
Ephesians 1:7-8
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
1 John 1:9

When I was young, I used to enjoy listening to radio programs. As I listened, I used my imagination to get a picture in my mind of what I thought was happening. Even though I had never ridden a horse, I could see myself galloping along with the people to which I was listening. Now, in my imagination, I can go back to those days in a similar way. By using Scripture as a filter, I can see in my mind experiences from my past, whether they were good or bad doesn’t matter, and imagine the Lord being with me then like I know He is with me now. Even though I didn’t realize it, God was always there for me. Now there are many scenarios where I can look back and forgive myself, humble myself, surrender myself and experience His peace and joy by trusting Him in the present moment to be with those I grieved and offended. It is a wonderful thing to know that the Lord has forgiven me and it is also good to know that I can forgive myself and others. I thank God for setting me free from the bondage of my past.
