“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.”
John 17:20-21

As I seek to be a healthy and fully alive person, it becomes quickly apparent that I lack the intrinsic ability to attain this unexpectedly illusive version of myself. However, in John 17 I learn that the power, truth, and righteousness that is alive in the person of Jesus is the present power of God alive in me. As Jesus prepares to be arrested, scourged, humiliated, and crucified, he prays fervently for all of us!!! What does he pray? That we will be in healthy unity—that is relationship—with one another. His parting prayer before his impending suffering is that we would be unified as one people after the heart of God. And this not solely for us, but also so that those who have yet to believe can see the work of God through healthy relationship.

Holy Father teach us what it means to be yielded to your work of healing and reconciliation in our inmost places of hurt so that the reflection of your love in us may extend out from us to the hurting world around us!!! Let it be so in Jesus name!
