“Saul spent several days with the disciples in Damascus. At once he began to preach in the synagogues that Jesus is the Son of God. All those who heard him were astonished and asked, ‘Isn’t he the man who raised havoc in Jerusalem among those who call on this name? And hasn’t he come here to take them as prisoners to the chief priests?’ Yet Saul grew more and more powerful and baffled the Jews living in Damascus by proving that Jesus is the Messiah.”
Acts 9:19-22

Without question, the conversion of Saul the Pharisee becoming Paul the Apostle is one of the greatest miracles of the New Testament. There are modern day stories that reveal that God still works miracles in the way He transforms lives. The greater the contrast from where someone was to who they became makes for good drama.

I’m grateful for all my children and grandchildren who are following Jesus, but one of them made a decision to lay down a successful career in art to serve the Lord wherever He wanted him to go. While serving as a missionary with his family in Southern India, the Lord called him home where we all look forward to going. The lessons learned from David’s life and death are still teaching me today. His conversion wasn’t as dramatic as Saul’s but the memories Linda and I have of him will bless us until the day we also die.
