"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
Romans 15:13
"I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness."
1 Timothy 2:1-2

God’s ways are gradually becoming my ways and they are simplifying my life so that I can be a witness to what He is doing. By surrendering to Him in every circumstance and responding in obedience as He guides me, moment by moment, I can live in unbroken communion with Him. His peace and joy are like a continuous spring of fresh water that brings the serenity and strength I need to sustain me. Whenever I resist what the Lord is doing and take matters into my own hands, I lose His perspective and my thoughts begin to run wild. The absence of His peace and joy makes me feel weak and vulnerable. I begin to create imaginary walls of protection that hinder me from being an observer of His activity. I pray for courage to face my life situations in the simplicity and power of His Spirit, continually mindful that He is always present.
