“Those who know Your name will trust in You, for You, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek You.”
Psalm 9:10
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth gives way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.”
Psalm 46:1

When I am by myself, quietly waiting on the Lord, my conditioned mind works against me many times. Random thoughts appear out of nowhere. They may come from my past, the future or from some speculative event that brings with it worry and fear. In those moments, when I am distracted from the awareness of God’s presence, all I have to do is direct my thoughts to some of my favorite passages of Scripture and I am filled with His peace and joy. Thoughts of Him are always calm and reassuring. The simple alertness to God’s presence, knowing He is always near, enables me to enjoy intimate fellowship with Him. I thank the Lord for the knowledge of His Kingdom which allows me to confidently put everything that happens in its proper perspective. Observing Him turn negative situations into positive outcomes makes fellowship with God a wonderful adventure.
