As I read this verse, I’m both comforted and challenged knowing that I am an ambassador for Christ. The verse doesn’t say that one day I might gain “ambassador” status if I do enough for God. On the flip side, the verse doesn’t say it’s a role I could lose one day. No, as a believer and follower of Christ, God’s truth says I am His ambassador whether I choose to take it seriously or not. It was only a few years ago that this verse resonated in my heart enough to prompt change in the way I acted and carried myself around others. Would I feel comfortable acting this way around others if I’m the only Jesus follower they know? Lord, may I continually seek to represent Your will and ways to those around me.
Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
