"Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved."
Acts 2:46-47

This passage really comes alive for me. Last year, in Sept. 2019, I was so blessed by spending a week in Israel. I saw the temple courts where the people met together.

During the time that this scripture was written, they were Jews but they were different because they knew and believed in Jesus. He was the fulfillment of all that they believed and had been taught from the Old Testament. For a while they didn’t separate from the rest of the Jewish community. They still went to the temple and synagogues for worship and for instruction of the scriptures. But because of their belief in Jesus, it caused problems and they were forced to meet in homes to break bread together and to praise God. Today, it is still so much the same. The Jewish people that believe in Jesus as their Savior meet in homes or rent a conference room in a hotel to praise and worship their King. You see the Jewish temple courts, the Catholic churches and the Muslim mosques. What you do not see are Christian churches. Experiencing this, I saw that the Jewish believers in Christ, also have Community Groups where they are with other believers, and the Lord continues to add to their numbers, you can see it in their faces, their eyes … the joy that only Jesus can give them. We are so blessed, let’s go and share that blessing with others.
