“For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.”
Hebrews 9:15
“All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.”
2 Corinthians 5:18-19

I love how everything God does in us is automatically an opportunity He gives us to do for someone else. There is no greater gift or blessing that we have received from God than the forgiveness of our sins; nothing better than the fact that, in Christ, He doesn’t count our sins against us any longer. And in the same way, there is no greater opportunity He’s given us than to point others to also being reconciled with Him. The perfect Father, who sent His one and only son to live a perfect life, pay a price that we could never pay, and resurrect to new life, bringing each of us new resurrected lives in this new covenant.

Now, we have been given the very same ministry of reconciliation. And yet I know for me, it’s still not in my nature to remember that God has committed this message of reconciliation to me to share with others.

God, help me see the world the way that You do. Help me remember what it was like for me before I experienced reconciliation with You. I want to be committed to this message over any other opinion, agenda, or pursuit. Empower us all to do your ministry work, in every season and circumstance of our lives. We trust You and follow Your lead in all things. In Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen.
