“Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ.”
Ephesians 4:14-15

2020 has been a chaotic, uncomfortable, downright hard year for most everyone to varying degrees. We’re being deluged with examples of those being led by emotions on a plethora of topics including politics, race relations, economy, & the pandemic to name a few. Followers of Christ have certainly not been immune to the temptation to jump into the fray. Anxiety, fear, judgment, anger and hostility run rampant. Encouraging right? Thankfully the passage above speaks of growing in maturity in Christ so that we are not blown about by the waves and winds of our times. Instead we are able to walk through difficult seasons exhibiting the remarkable fruit of the Spirit – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control. The gateway to maturing in Christ is humilityAs I humble myself daily to His Lordship, I am stabilized through His love and the power of the Holy Spirit. Humility is a moment by moment choice. Come teach me Your ways Lord.
