"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen."
Ephesians 3:20-21

Ephesians 3:20-21 serves as a striking reminder of the immeasurable power and boundless love of God. This passage challenges us to expand our expectations and trust in a God who can far exceed anything we could ever dream of.

Take a second to think of anything in your life that you’d like to see change but seems impossible. This could be a broken relationship, difficult work dynamics, financial hardship, or loved ones not knowing the Lord. What about it seems impossible? Why does it feel like it could never change or improve? We often place our human limitations and understanding on circumstances in life, which results in things feeling impossible or hopeless. If it depended on our own power and ability, many things would be.

But God is “able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine.” It doesn’t matter how big, complicated, hopeless, unrealistic, or dire a situation is. God is able to tackle those things in our lives and bring peace, hope, resolution, and joy. When we pray, we often limit our requests to what we deem possible, according to our limited grasp of who God is and what He can do. However, this verse encourages us to approach God boldly, understanding that His ability to act in our lives transcends our understanding.

Let’s be encouraged that we serve a perfect, loving, and powerful God capable of more than we can grasp. Let’s approach God in faith, knowing He will work things out for our good and His glory.
