“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.”
Matthew 13:44
“But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith. I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.”
Philippians 3:7-11

Until a few years ago, I misunderstood the importance of the present moment. Most of the time I viewed each event as part of the process of a future goal, marking them off as I moved progressively closer to my objectives. I didn’t realize that I was missing out on the greatest blessing God had for me. Now, by taking pleasure in every moment as an opportunity to have fellowship with the Lord, I have discovered that I can live in a continual state of peace and joy by simply walking with Him in every circumstance. No matter what is happening, I am learning the secret of being content in every situation. Living persistently in the conscious awareness of God’s presence is the primary objective of my life. By doing that, I now treat every moment as a precious gift from Him and embrace every experience as an opportunity to commune with the Lord.
