"You, Lord, are my lamp; the Lord turns my darkness into light. With Your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall. As for God, His way is perfect: the Lord’s word is flawless; He shields all who take refuge in Him."
2 Samuel 22:29-31
"If I say, 'Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,' even the darkness will not be dark to You; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to You."
Psalm 139:11-12

I am grateful that God doesn’t force me to do things against my will. Everything He does is in the light of His glorious presence that is always with me. My problems arise when my back is turned to Him and I can’t see very well because of the darkness. When I look at the example of Jesus, it is evident that He lived in unbroken fellowship with His Heavenly Father and He has paved the way for me to follow Him. His ministry of grace and truth is guiding me but for me to stay on the path of righteousness I have to walk in His light by surrendering to Him in every situation. When I go my own way I am abandoning the light that He so graciously provides. I pray that God will help me live a life of absolute surrender so that my mind will no longer conform to the pattern of this world which is full of darkness.
